Current Event Abortion - Prolife
October 21st, the 10th Pro-Life Day of Silent Solidarity began in over 3,000 high school and college campuses. Students that were against abortion would tape their mouths shut for a whole day as a silent protest. A student named Kemper, an abortion activist, created an organization that tracks the number of of students that are doing this silent protesting on a website named silentday.org.
This is an important because it shows what people are willing to do to show what they think about abortions. I see this in a positive way because these people are willing to tell us what they think and believe, without saying a word at all. I think that this is something that would be good for all of us, no matter what side we are on.

Current Event Abortion- Pro Choice
Published on October 27th,in the Cincinnati area, one of few abortion clinics, was cited by the Ohio Department of Health for not writing a transfer agreement with a local private hospital. This clinic has served about 2.1 million people. Clinic officials stated that they had agreed on an exemption more than a year ago, but never heard back from the state.
Soon, Cincinnati would be one of the largest areas in the country without an abortion clinic. Because Governer, John Kasich wants to restrict abortion rights across the state, this causes a problem for the 2.1 million people that depend on the abortion clinic. If the women cannot obtain their needed services, that will raise many questions across the city.I think, women should have the right of whether or not they want an abortion, and what is happening in this situation is violating that right.

Current Event 1st/2nd Amendment
1st Amendment
In Ruidoso, New Mexico, stuck down a rule that banns speakers at it's meeting from saying anything negative about Ruidoso's government or it's employees. This goes against the 1st amendment which is freedom of speech. "You can block topics, but not viewpoints, and negative is a viewpoint."one open government advocate said.

2nd Amendment
In Oldsmar, Florida, a bank manager, Ivette Ros, was fired for carrying a gun with her. She stated that she was legally carrying it. She had a permit for it and that it was concealed. Violating the 2nd amendment, "the right of the people to keep and bear arms."

Betty Ong, 9/11 Hero
Betty Ong was hero because of her call to American Airlines operation. This call warned the people and was the first acknowledgement of this attack. Without her call, we would have not known that the plain has been hijacked. The total length of her phone call was eight minutes and twenty six seconds. The call was disconnected 37 seconds before the plane crashed into the north tower. She was a true hero.
